How Do Cursor Usage Limits Work?

Cursor is a monthly included-usage pool (plus optional on-demand), not a rolling five-hour Codex window.

On current usage-based plans, included agent usage is a pool that resets with your billing cycle. Unused usage does not roll over. Check cursor.com/dashboard → Spending for remaining allowance and any on-demand charges. AI Limit does not read Cursor accounts.

Two pools, not one 5-hour clock

Cursor’s own help docs split included usage: a generous first-party / Cursor-models pool and a dollar allowance for other (API) models. Auto / Composer-style routing often lasts longer than pinning a third-party model. There is no trustworthy public “requests per day” number.

When does Cursor usage reset?

Monthly, on the subscription anchor date — the day the plan started — not midnight UTC and not a rolling 5-hour window. Teams reset together on the team billing cycle. The date is shown on the Spending tab and in Manage Subscription.

If the meter looks stuck on reset day, wait for the anchor time, not only the calendar date.
