Codex is not one daily quota. Most accounts hit a 5-hour window, a weekly allowance, or both — and each has its own reset time.
/status for the numbers on this account.
The five-hour window is rolling. A new window starts when you send the first message after the previous window ends. You can reach it before five hours have passed. This is the limit that usually stops a coding session mid-day.
If you are being blocked during a session rather than for the rest of the week, see the Codex 5-hour limit guide.
The weekly allowance is the longer cap. After several heavy days, a 5-hour refresh will not help if weekly remaining is already 0. The weekly reset timestamp is account-specific.
If the 5-hour window has refreshed but you are still blocked, you may have reached your Codex weekly limit.
AI Limit cannot see what your last turn cost. Only Settings → Usage / /status can.
There is no universal Codex reset time. Personal windows reset on the timestamps in the usage dashboard. Public global or banked resets are a different event.

/status.How-to: check remaining usage. Tracker vs dashboard: Codex usage tracker.
